Spring Winds

Every year our desert home in New Mexico is pummeled by the wind. From sometime in March through May and even into June, the warmer winds of Spring blow in from the west across miles of open desert from California, across Arizona and New Mexico picking up speed as they go with nothing in the vast terrain of the southwest to stop them.

To protect the life of your retractable awnings and screens, please be aware and prepared to secure them. Awnings should be retracted fully. Screens can be rolled up or secured with clips at the ends. If you have patio umbrellas, they too should be closed so as not to fly off in a sudden gust! By securing your awnings, screens and umbrellas you will avoid tears in the fabrics and relieve undue pressure on mounts and retracting arms which can become damaged over time in strong winds.

Check weather reports this year and extend the life of your outdoor fabric structures.
